How Rudra’s commission works — for practitioners on the Rudra platform

In one line: clients pay the price you list, Rudra retains 15% of each paid session, and the remaining 85% is paid out to you.

1. You set your own prices

Rudra does not set your rates. In the practitioner app, under Services & pricing, you list what you offer — chat support, voice sessions, video sessions, or in-person work — along with the duration, the price, and exactly what the client receives. You can list several services, change them at any time, or hide one without deleting it.

Every price you enter is shown alongside your take-home for that service, so you always know what you will receive before you publish it.

2. What the commission is

When a client books and pays for one of your services through Rudra, we retain 15% of that payment as a platform commission. This is the only deduction Rudra makes from a session payment. The split is calculated when the payment is captured and recorded on the invoice for that session, so it never changes retroactively.

₹1,000₹150₹850
₹1,500₹225₹1,275
₹2,500₹375₹2,125

Fractions of a rupee are always rounded in your favour: the commission is rounded down, and you receive the remainder.

4. What the commission covers

  • Credential verification against the relevant statutory register, and your verified profile.
  • Being discoverable to clients searching for care on Rudra.
  • Booking, scheduling and calendar management, including reminders to both sides.
  • Hosted video and voice sessions.
  • Secure messaging with your clients between sessions.
  • Clinical records — session notes, standardised assessments (PHQ-9, GAD-7) and outcome tracking.
  • Payment processing, invoicing and payout handling.
  • Practitioner support.

5. Getting paid

Payments from clients are collected by Rudra’s payment provider and settled to the UPI ID or bank account on your practitioner profile. Every session shows its own breakdown — total paid, Rudra’s commission, and your earnings — under Earnings & invoices in the practitioner app.

Payouts run weekly. Each payout covers the sessions you completed during the previous week, less Rudra’s commission. A session becomes eligible once it has been completed and its payment has cleared, so a session paid for very close to the cut-off may fall into the following week’s payout rather than the current one.

Your first payout can take longer than later ones, because it waits on your credential verification and on your bank or UPI details being complete and correct. Payouts are sent to the UPI ID or bank account on your profile — if those details are missing or fail validation, the payout is held rather than sent somewhere wrong, and we will contact you. Once released, the time to land in your account is your bank’s, not ours.

6. Taxes

You practise on Rudra as an independent professional and remain responsible for your own tax obligations, including income tax and GST where applicable. Add your PAN and, if you are registered, your GST number in the app so they appear on your invoices. Rudra does not provide tax advice.

7. Changes to this fee

If the commission changes, practitioners will be notified before the new rate takes effect. A change never applies to sessions already paid for — each invoice keeps the rate that was applied when the payment was captured.
