Delete your account & data

Last updated: 6 July 2026

You can delete your Rudra account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains the two ways to do it, exactly what is removed, and the few things we are legally required to keep.

Option 1 — from inside the app

  • Open the Rudra app and sign in.
  • Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
  • Confirm the deletion. That’s it — no phone calls, no retention offers.

Option 2 — by email (works even if you can’t sign in)

Email privacy@rudraailabs.com with the subject “Delete my account” from the email address registered to your account. We may ask one verification question to make sure the request really comes from you, then process the deletion. We acknowledge requests within 72 hours.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and profile (name, email, phone, photo);
  • Journal entries, mood check-ins, and AI-companion conversation history;
  • Assessment responses (PHQ-9, GAD-7, and similar);
  • Messages, notification history, and product-analytics identifiers;
  • For practitioners: uploaded verification documents (if not already auto-purged).

Deletion is completed within 30 days of the request. Residual copies in encrypted backups age out of the backup cycle automatically after that.

What we must keep (and why)

  • Invoice and payment records — retained as required by Indian tax and accounting law, for the statutory period.
  • Clinical records held by your practitioner — your practitioner is professionally obliged to retain clinical records for their mandated period. Deleting your Rudra account removes your access relationship; it cannot erase a clinician’s lawful records. Contact your practitioner directly about those.
  • A minimal deletion log — proof that we deleted your data, containing no personal content.
Deleting your account is permanent. Wellness history, journals, and conversations cannot be recovered afterwards. If you only want a break, you can simply sign out — nothing is deleted until you ask.
